2025•••••••••••••••••••••Hon. Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi- Oziomachi has continued in his tradition of empowering and supporting widows and less privileged in Bende North.
The annual programme was held on the 28th November 2025 at Oziomachi Centre Umunnato and witnessed mass turnout of widows and less privileged from Igbere, Alayi, Item, Ezeukwu and Ugwueke.
The epic event commenced with an opening prayer and a welcome speech presented by a beneficiary of Hon. Ibekwe’s Adult continuing Education School in Bende North.
The speech was written and presented by the woman who never attended the formal education or school, but through Oziomachi adult education, she went through primary and secondary school with the help of Dr. Ibekwe she wrote FSLCE, and WAEC. So, in appreciation, decided to present the welcome address.
Immediately after the address, dignitaries took turn to eulogies and appreciated Hon. Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi for demonstrating courage and capacity in serving his people well.
Senator Darlington Nwoke stated clearly that the gifts presented by the Honourable are not from the Government but from a personal resources as he is aware of a House of Assembly members salary and confirmed that government salary can not purchase the items gifted the widows and less privileged in Umunna by Hon. Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi.
Other speakers confirmed that Hon. Ibekwe has transformed Bende North as witnessed by the turn out of the women and the love showed.
The representative of the Deputy Governor confirmed that Hon. Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi, through Oziomachi, has sponsored over 1,100 senior secondary students on ICT training, equipping them with critical digital skills essential for the modern economy. He also funded over 81 students’ WASSCE examinations and supported 220 children’s basic education, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder them from learning. Furthermore, he facilitated the enrolment of 131 students for the first school leaving certificate examination, reflecting his commitment to education and well-being of the people.
He equally noted that Hon. Ibekwe attracted the JAMB-accredited ICT Centre in Umunnato, which successfully hosted the 2025 JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) exams. This facility serves students across Igbere, Alayi, Ugwueke, Ezeukwu, and Item, bridging the digital divide in Bende North.
Renewable energy distributed to members across the communities that made up Bende North is worthy of celebration.
The ICT training center, which accommodated over 1,100 students during the just concluded WASSCE examinations, was officially launched by the wife of Abia State Governor, and the gift items were then shared and distributed to the women and members.
Food items, wrappers, tractors, motorcycles, palm oil machines, garri machines, renewable lights, and seals were part of the items shared at the occasion.
The mayor of Bende Local Government affirmed that Honourable Nnamdi Ibekwe’s tenure as the representative of Bende North is characterised by visionary leadership, tangible development projects, and a deep commitment to the welfare of his people. He concluded his speech by saying that Hon. Ibekwe’s achievements stand as a testament to purposeful representation and a spirit to support Bende North and beyond.
This comprehensive record of Hon. Ibekwe’s accomplishments in respect of touching lives and contributing to the development of Bende North were reeled out by all the speakers at the occasion.
The empowerment came to an end with Dr Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi’s wife appreciating everyone for coming and thanked her husband for always supporting women, widows, and everyone as she prayed for journey mercies back to every destination.
