EMPOWER THE YOUTH, SECURE TOMORROW: CHAMPIONING GLOBAL TEEN HEALTH-OZIOMACHI

Today, I join the global community in celebrating World Teen Health Awareness Day — a day dedicated to promoting the physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being of our young people.

I extend my warmest felicitations to all teenagers across our constituency, Abia State, and Nigeria at large.

Our teenagers are not just the leaders of tomorrow; you are the strength, creativity, innovation, and energy shaping our society today. Your health and well-being are critical to the sustainable development of our communities and our nation. A healthy teenager grows into a productive adult, and a productive adult builds a prosperous society.

World Teen Health Awareness Day serves as a timely reminder of the importance of:

  • Prioritizing mental health and emotional balance
  • Maintaining proper nutrition and regular physical activity
  • Avoiding substance abuse and harmful habits
  • Seeking guidance and speaking up when faced with challenges
  • Building positive relationships and self-confidence

As a legislator committed to people-centered governance, I Hon. Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi (OziomaChi) remains passionate about policies and initiatives that promote youth empowerment, quality education, accessible healthcare, and safe environments where teenagers can thrive without fear or limitation.

To every teenager reading this:
You are valuable. Your dreams matter. Your voice counts. Do not allow societal pressure, online influence, or temporary setbacks to define your future. Stay focused, stay disciplined, and never hesitate to seek support when you need it.

On this special day, let us collectively renew our commitment — as parents, teachers, leaders, and community stakeholders — to create systems that protect, guide, and empower our young people.

Happy World Teen Health Awareness Day.

May you grow in strength, wisdom, confidence, and sound health.

Hon. Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi (OziomaChi)
Member, Abia State House of Assembly
