Two Years Of Democracy Dividends In Bende North: The OziomahChi Legacy

Over the past two years, Honourable Nnamdi Chimdi Ibekwe, popularly known as OziomaChi, has profoundly transformed Bende North through strategic constituency projects, legislative initiatives, and community empowerment programmes. His tenure is distinguished by impactful interventions across education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, youth development, environmental sustainability, and legislative excellence, directly benefiting thousands and setting a high standard for governance.

Education and ICT Empowerment

Education remains a cornerstone of Honourable Ibekwe’s agenda. Through the OziomaChi Foundation, he has sponsored over 1,100 senior secondary students on ICT training, equipping them with critical digital skills essential for the modern economy. He has also funded over 81 students’ WASSCE examinations and supported 220 children’s basic education, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to learning. Furthermore, he facilitated the enrolment of 131 students for the first school leaving certificate examination, reflecting his commitment to foundational education.

Institutionalising sustainable educational support, Ibekwe established an education endowment fund across Bende North and a dedicated endowment at Abia State University. A landmark achievement in this sector is the creation of a JAMB-accredited ICT Centre in Alayi, which successfully hosted the 2025 JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) exams. This facility serves students across Igbere, Alayi, Ugwueke, Ezeukwu, and Item, bridging the digital divide in the constituency.
